Volunteeers Talk About the Station
Neighbor 2 Neighbor depends primarily on volunteers. Without volunteers we cannot open. We need a good supply of volunteers to maintain flexibility and to prevent a small number of individuals from bearing the full burden.
Normal shifts for the Warming Station are 6:00PM to 10:00PM and occasionally from 10:00PM to 06:00AM to assist our overnight employees. Volunteers staff the Day Center spring, summer and fall on Mondays from 01:00PM to 03:00PM, and in the winter during extremely cold weather from 09:30AM to 10:00 AM. Volunteer Requirements
- Volunteers must complete an application form
- Volunteers must be at least 18 years old
- Volunteers must pass a background check
- Volunteers must complete basic volunteer training

- Volunteers should be tolerant

Our Background Requirements
Volunteers must not have been convicted of any felony or serious misdemeanor crimes for our volunteer coordinator to approve their application. However, volunteers with issues in their backgrounds may still be approved, depending on their individual situations. Click here for the details of our volunteer background requirements.

You must sign a hard copy of this form in order for us to complete the required background check. Mail
completed forms to our mailing address. Instructions are on the form.
Alternatively, you may submit the e-mail form below and our Volunteer Coordinator
will send you an application with instructions for completion.
